サンゴの建材「ulu#353196」は、風化造礁サンゴを原料とした自然由来の建材ブランドです。沖縄の言葉で「うる」は「サンゴ」を意味し、その名の通り、沖縄文化の恵みを活かして、環境にも身体にも優しい空間づくりに貢献します。白化現象などにより風化した造礁サンゴの微細孔に着目し、臭いや湿気を吸着・除去する性能を持つ建材として開発されました。
さらに、弊社独自の技術により、泡盛の蒸留粕を固めて作ったサンゴ養殖基盤を開発。「使って、育てる」をコンセプトに、新たなサンゴを育てる活動支援の仕組みをブランドに組み込んでいます。この建材を選ぶことが、沖縄の海を未来へとつなぐ循環の一歩となります。素材の魅力と社会的意義を兼ね備えた、新しい時代の建材です。

Coral Building Material “ulu#353196” is a natural building material brand made from weathered reef-building coral. In the Okinawan language, ‘uru’ means “coral.” True to its name, it harnesses the blessings of Okinawan culture to contribute to creating spaces that are gentle on both the environment and the body. Focusing on the micro-pores within weathered reef-building coral affected by bleaching, it was developed as a building material with the ability to adsorb and remove odors and moisture.
Furthermore, using our proprietary technology, we developed a coral cultivation substrate made by solidifying distillation residue from awamori. Incorporating the concept of “use and grow,” the brand includes a mechanism to support activities that cultivate new coral. Choosing this building material becomes a step in the cycle connecting Okinawa's seas to the future. It is a building material for a new era, combining the appeal of the material with social significance.

・珊瑚の白化は、地球温暖化の進む今、世界的な問題である。その解決策として、サステナブルにサンゴを使えるのは非常にクールだ。
・残念ながら死滅してしまったサンゴだが、自然素材ゆえに身体にも優しい塗り壁材として生まれ変わることができ、素晴らしいことと思う。
・白化したサンゴの白い色、細かな気泡は、屋内建材としての見た目、臭いの吸着材、通気性によるカビ予防、自然ならではの風合いなど素晴らしい利活用方法であると思った。特に海からの恵みであるため海辺の建物と相性がよく合うと思う。ぜひ持ち帰って使ってみたい。
・なんと素晴らしい発想でしょうか！日本語で言うところの「目から鱗」だ。
・古来よりサンゴの素材は使われてきたと思うが、現代ではあまり使われなくなったと思う。少しずつでも、uluのような人と地球に優しい優れた商品を日々の生活の中で取り入れていけると、生活クオリティが上がり心身ともにリラックスできるような気がする。

・Coral bleaching is a global issue as global warming progresses. Using coral sustainably as a solution is incredibly cool.
・Though the coral has sadly died, it can be reborn as a natural, body-friendly plaster material—truly wonderful.
・The white color and fine bubbles of bleached coral offer excellent applications as an interior building material: its appearance, odor-absorbing properties, mold prevention through breathability, and the unique texture only nature can provide. Especially since it's a gift from the sea, I think it pairs perfectly with coastal buildings. I definitely want to take some home and use it.
